In case you were wondering what it is I do at night in the lab, well it's this. And yes the photo I posted earlier is also from this crazy device called a Transmission Electron Microscope.

In case you missed last week's photo be sure to check it out. I posted it late on Tuesday night since I had to take the shot at night. It's another photo with me in it so you can't miss it.

UPDATE 12-5-06: I have finally decided to move my site and most likely get a real domain name as well. Part of this decision is a consequence of frustrations I have been having with my current host. Unfortunately, this will all require a lot of work which I will not have time to do until after finals. In the mean time I will leave you with a few links to check out in the event that you are itching to see some new photos. Most of these are rather famous current photographers which you probably haven't yet been exposed to if you just hang around the blogging arena. Unfortunately, it seems as though professional photographers are required to use Flash in their websites. I don't know why, but everyone of them does it. In any event, you were warned.

Michael Grecco He believes in "dynamic" portraiture and has an awesome new book out called Lighting and the Dynamic Portrait.

Steve Liss He shoots for Time Magazine, but also spends his free time looking for the things mainstream media passes by. Check out his American's section its classic.

Walter Iooss. This man has an amazing career history, be sure to check it out if you like to be belittled. He became an contributing photographer for Sports Illustrated at the age of 19. Things only managed to up from then on at a leaps and bounds progress. He has shot 40 straight Super Bowls now and has branched out away from SI to publish several of his own books including the famous Michel Jordan books.

Mark Seliger He was the chief photographer for Rolling Stone and shot over 100 covers for them. He now shots for Vanity Fair, Gq, Vogue Homes, Interview and British Elle. He also has several books published.

Greg Gorman. He quite simply photographs celebrities and lots of them. He claims that he tries to capture human nature in its infinite range. He makes sure that each photo is representative of that person's character. Greg says that a successful photo is one that doesn't answer all of the questions and "leaves something to be desired."

Joe McNally. He is a very decorated photojournalist and is listed as one of the 100 Most Important People in Photography by American Photo. He also does commercial work, because really, who doesn't these days.

Glenn Feron. This guy is a professional retoucher. If you run your mouse over his images you can see the original image before any retouching was done. In most cases the amount of changes done are baffling. He charges $125-250/hr with an average image taking him anywhere
